The Consulate General works with the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan living in the Republic of Karelia, the Arkhangelskaya, Vologdskaya, Kaliningradskaya, Leningradskaya, Murmanskaya, Novgorodskaya, Pskovskaya oblasts and in Saint Petersburg.
Information:
Foreign economic relations between St. Petersburg and Kazakhstan are developing with a sufficient stability. Kazakhstan is one of the main (the third after Belarus and the Ukraine) trading partners of St. Petersburg among the CIS countries.
The volume of foreign trade between St. Petersburg and Kazakhstan has been constantly growing last years, owing to the growth of export from St. Petersburg. In 2006 in comparison with 2005 the commodity circulation has grown on 16% and made 6 billion 53 million rubles (232,8 million dollars, the 22d place among the trading partners of St. Petersburg).
In 2006 the budget of St. Petersburg received 224,3 million dollars of the investments from Kazakhstan (4.3% out of the total investments volume, 6th place among the investors of the city).
According to the data of 1 January, 2007 there have been saved up 8,9 million dollars of the investments from Kazakhstan: 85 % – "other investments", 14,6 % – direct investments.
