Information:
Diplomatic relations between Iceland and the Soviet Union was established in 1943. In a year the corresponding Embassies were open in Reykjavik and Moscow. Mutual relations between our states are based on the mutual benefit. The parties are regularly consulting about the political questions. The states cooperate in economics and trade, especially in fishery.
Cultural relations continue developing. Recently theatrical performances and films from Iceland have been demonstrated in Moscow and the audience gave it a worthy reception. Recent concerts of the Icelandic musicians in Russia have had the same success.
